For many of us, hair removal is part of everyday life. Whether you choose shaving, waxing, electrolysis or hair removal cream, the options can be painful, messy and ineffective, as well as time consuming. At Ziba Medical & Day Spa, we offer two hair removal treatment options: laser hair removal with the LightSheer Quattro, or NuFree Waxing.

At Asfa Plastic Surgery and Ziba Medical & Day Spa, our hair removal technology of choice is the LightSheer Quattro, by Lumenis. Lumenis has been pioneering hair removal for more than 50 years, and you will be receiving the most advanced hair removal treatment available, by our highly trained aesthetics team. Safety is of utmost importance to us, and your treatment will be personally approved by our Board Certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Saied Asfa. The LightSheer Quattro will give you long-lasting results, more comfortable treatments than other lasers, and very quick treatment times. Lumenis LightSheer Quattro uses a clinically-proven diode laser to penetrate the skin to effectively reduce or completely eliminate unwanted hair, quickly and comfortably. The LightSheer Quattro features two unique technologies: high speed vacuum assisted technology for large treatment areas; and ChillTip technology, which is a cooled sapphire tip used on smaller, more delicate areas. The LightSheer Quattro is generally suited to safely treat all skin types and tones, as well as all types of hair. Laser hair removal is most effective when hair is at an early growth stage. Because not all hairs will be at the same stage of growth at the same time, multiple sessions will be needed for the most optimal results. Most people require four to six treatments, 4-6 weeks apart. Some people may require additional treatments depending on skin type and hair color.

Is Laser Hair Reduction Painful?

During laser treatments, some people feel a pinching sensation or a feeling similar to a rubber band being snapped on the skin. Some individuals have described this as being similar to an elastic band being “snapped” on the skin. Others notice a tingling or burning sensation. To prevent these feelings of discomfort, we highly recommend the use of a topical numbing cream, which your aesthetician will apply to the area(s) to be treated. We work with a local compounding pharmacy that custom blends the numbing cream to Dr. Asfa's specifications. Per state regulations, we are no longer able to stock this medication on site, but we are able to submit the prescription for you. It is your responsibility to call the pharmacy and pay for the medication in advance of your treatment appointment. For your convenience, the pharmacy can arrange to deliver your prescription to us prior to your scheduled treatment. We also offer the Pro-Nox Nitrous Oxide Delivery System to minimize pain and anxiety, described below.

PAIN RELIEF OPTIONS

Numbing Cream: We are happy to provide you with a prescription for topical numbing cream, which is custom blended by a compounding pharmacy. There is a nominal fee for this, paid by you to the pharmacy. We recommend using the pharmacy's complimentary delivery service to have your prescription delivered to us prior to your treatment, or you may pick it up from the pharmacy.

Pro-Nox Nitrous Oxide Delivery System: you are empowered to safely control your pain relief during certain in-office aesthetic treatments and procedures, such as Morpheus8, IPL and other laser treatments, BodyTite, liposuction and more. The fixed mixture of 50% nitrous oxide and oxygen uses a specially designed, on-demand valve that delivers these medical gases only when you choose to inhale it through a handheld mouthpiece. There is no loss of consciousness, you manage when to use Pro-Nox and for how long, while still being clear-headed and able to respond on your own terms. This pain management alternative, known as analgesia, is non-addictive and can even decrease the need for other pain medications, such as pills.

• Step 2. Hydrate & Nourish: The aesthetician will thoroughly go over the scalp again, this time with an optimized delivery of a proprietary blend of five biomimetic growth factors and two skin proteins.
• Step 3. Nourish & Stimulate: the treatment concludes with the application of a take home serum that will nourish and stimulate the scalp and hair follicles.
  

Ziba Advanced Hair Restoration System - $120; includes Ziba Rapid Growth Serum, Ziba Restoring Shampoo and Ziba Replenishing Conditioner

Hair loss is most often a disruption of the hair growth cycle by an increase of the dihydrotestosterone (DHT) hormone, loss of connective tissue integrity that surrounds the hair follicle, and an increase in the inflammatory process in the scalp. Part of Dr. Asfa’s private label skincare line, the Ziba Advanced Hair Restoration System uses advanced HRS-10 technology to block the production of DHT, stimulate collagen production for better hair follicle anchoring, and decrease pro-inflammatory cytokines with synergistic action. The Ziba Advanced Hair Restoration System provides fuller, thicker and healthier looking hair and is clinically proven to stimulate hair growth and prevent further hair loss.
